EPSTEIN/BRUSSELS : THE BELGIAN CONNECTION
Through Jean-Luc Brunel, we knew Jeffrey Epstein had a foothold in Europe. Recent emails reveal a specific country might have played a role in Epstein's European affairs : Belgium.
Jeffrey Epstein’s death on August 10, 2019 might be the singular event that threw me into the tentacles of what we might call, at large, parapolitics. I guess it’s one of these things that helps you realize - “holy shit, so this isn’t isolated?” at something you’ve been seeking answers for years. It was in turn this event that led me to start my own research about something way closer and personal to me, the Dutroux affair. Strange I know, you’d think it would have gone the other way, but the truth is up until then, I had only basic knowledge of the Dutroux case. We’ve all got to start somewhere. Through the lens of the Epstein, Maxwell & co I now had a concrete example of what the upper echelon of child and human trafficking was, something that was only evoked and rumored to exist here in Belgium.
In a way, the Dutroux affair and the Epstein case are very similar, and many have made that observation (correctly) over the years, but in my mind, it’s more like they complete each other. It’s not exactly the same thing. On one side, you have a petty gangster turned procurer for others. Marc Dutroux, while he abused his victims, was more peripheral to the whole enterprise of child trafficking in Belgium. On the other side, you have a figure like Epstein, a financier, blackmailer, intelligence asset pulling the strings of officials like heads of states, billionaires, entrepreneurs, and whatnot. That is more akin to Michel Nihoul, on a much more “local” Belgian scale, of course. What I mean by this is that Dutroux and Epstein, if we want to compare them, evolved at different levels of the same machinations : Dutroux procured children to be abused by others. Epstein was the one abusing them or letting others abuse them. Same universe, different dimensions. It always made me wonder how the Dutroux affair would have been treated if instead of Dutroux, it started with someone like Nihoul. But then again, there are still people, to this very day, defending Jeffrey Epstein and claiming that what he and Ghislaine Maxwell did has been turned into something that it’s not and that we’re all just conspiracy theorists. Makes you wonder who’s keeping them on a payroll out there. But I digress, let’s get back to the matters at hand.
I’m not going to do a whole history of the Epstein case1, that would probably require multiple articles to be accurate, and I’m certain most of you are familiar with it. There’s also far more better sources than me on the case. I’m thinking of Whitney Webb, Nick Bryant, Julie K. Brown, Jacob Shamsian, Marlon J. Ettinger, @hash_tigre, ParaPower Mapping and @gumby4christ on Twitter, and more. By all means, please check out their work to get the larger picture on Epstein. Instead, I’m going to keep this rather focused on the batch of emails that have been released as part of the Epstein Files Transparency Act on the American Department of Justice’s website. Here’s a little timeline of where we are right now, regarding what people are referring to as “the Epstein files” :
July 2019 : Jeffrey Epstein is arrested.
August 2019 : Jeffrey Epstein dies (ruled a suicide, there’s legitimate suspicion it is not).
2020 : Ghislaine Maxwell is charged with sex crimes by prosecutors in the state of New York.
2022 : Ghislaine Maxwell is sentenced to 20 years in prison.
January 2024 : Following a lawsuit initiated in 2015 by Virginia Giuffre, victim, unsealed court records about the Epstein case are released. Most of the content was already public2.
2025 : Second term of the Trump presidency.
February 2025 : Attorney General Pam Bondi talks of a “client list” belonging to Epstein in her possession. The White House stages the release of the so-called “Epstein files” (most of the documents included publicly available before) to far-right influencers.
April 2025 : Virgina Giuffre dies. It is ruled a suicide (there’s suspicion it wasn’t)3.
July 2025 : The Justice Department now declares that an Epstein client list, as promoted by Pam Bondi, doesn’t exist4.
July 2025 : The Epstein Files Transparency Act is introduced - if adopted, the Justice Department would have to make its investigative files on Epstein public.
July 2025 : The Wall Street Journal reveals new documents partaining to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, including a letter written by Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein as part of a “birthday book”5.
November 2025 : Democrats on the House Oversight Committee release 3 emails related to Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump specifically, including one where Epstein says Trump “knew about the girls”6.
November 18 2025 : American Congress passes the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
December 19 2025 : Starting this date, the Department of Justice starts releasing records on Jeffrey Epstein.
January 30 2025 : Around 3 million pages of documents are released, including many personal emails from and to Jeffrey Epstein. More than 2,000 videos and 180,000 pictures.
So, this is where we’re at now. It’s been a pretty wild last 6 months regarding the Epstein case. With the release of documents to the public, the case has had an enormous surge in interest again, mainly because we’re finally getting a peek at what life was like for Jeffrey Epstein. In the latest batch of files, there’s all sorts of communications between Epstein and others - references to sexual abuse are galore. It’s been hard to keep up with everything because there’s just so much damning evidence on Epstein and his associates, to be quite honest. In the following lines, I’ll be focusing on Belgium and Europe, as that is more of my area of expertise.
I had already tried to use the Department of Justice’s Epstein Files website to search the first release of documents in December of 2025, but at the time, I think it simply did not work and I did not bother trying it again until January 30, when all those screenshots of emails hit the timeline like crazy. Pretty simply and naively, I started typing in words to see what would pop up - let’s try Belgium. Boom - 738 Results. What the fuck? Surely, I thought to myself, this must be a coincidence. There’s no way all of those documents are related to Belgium in any pertinent way. And I have to say, a majority of them are not. It’s a European country, it’s the capital of Europe, it’s listed in newsletters, articles that Epstein received in his inbox. But I didn’t have to dig far to realize there would be some interesting stuff in there. First pages, Jean-Luc Brunel7 to Jeffrey Epstein :

Okay. Brunel seems to be in Belgium a lot. In a way, it doesn’t surprise me, but it never occurred to me that Epstein and Brunel might have been conducting business out of Belgium.
I kept going through the files, reading each mention until I stumbled upon something of interest. Like this email :

Woah, wait a minute. Some guy, '“Danielsiad”, is bringing a girl from Belgium to New York and Epstein is to introduce her to “NEXT”. What’s Next? Judging by the context, it would seem to be Next Model Management, a modeling agency based in New York, of which Jean-Luc Brunel owned 25% of8. Who’s Daniel Siad? Another email from the batch gives us an indication :

So, Daniel Siad is a scout who procures women for Epstein. And it seems he’s active in Belgium. I managed to track down a few more emails regarding Tess dating from 2012, but it seems like Epstein kept asking for her contact info but it wasn’t given to him.

I wonder what happened and what became of Tess. I looked through more files and I couldn’t find out more. It didn’t help that it seems that Epstein hired a maid from the Philippines called Tess around 2015, so there’s a lot of unrelated emails to go through. Besides this, there’s another mention of a “girl from Belgium” from someone named Ramsey Elkholy. He seems to be a procurer for Epstein, much like Daniel Siad was, with Jean-Luc Brunel meeting the girls he brought him.

Here’s the email Elkholy sent to Epstein about a Belgian girl :

Pretty evocative. Following the email, there are three redacted pictures. I’m only going to show one, the one where the girl is still dressed. They seem to be professional pictures.

Despite the pictures being redacted, I couldn’t help but feel uneasy looking at them, knowing this woman (who seems rather young) had her pictures sent to Jeffrey Epstein. So far though, there’s not really any indication something else was going on other than Epstein introducing girls from Belgium to Brunel and modeling agencies. We can speculate why, but we don’t have any proof. What’s up next is what really started getting my attention in regards to Belgium - it was pretty damning.
On October 17 2012, Epstein sent the following email to Lesley Groff, his assistant :
cntact prince laurent of belgium. [REDACTED]

Groff answered back a few hours later :
I will put this contact in the directory. (unless..are you asking me to call him now for you?)
Now this is really something. Why was Jeffrey Epstein trying to get in contact with Prince Laurent of Belgium? If you’re not aware, Belgium still lives backwards and we have royals - the current king is Philippe and the queen consort is Mathilde. Laurent is a prince, the younger brother of Philippe. He always has been the odd one out, knowing he would never reign, he turned to charity and didn’t really care much for royal protocols. UK’s Andrew or Harry comes to mind, as a comparison. The appearance of prince Laurent in Epstein’s private emails was reported on by the Belgian press the day after the release of the files, first through Het Laatste Nieuws. Laurent released a statement through Belga, the Belgian press agency, a few days later. First, he denied any contact with Epstein, then in a second statement released later that same day, he admitted to having met him twice. Here are the statements :
I want to put a definitive end to the rumors surrounding the Epstein affair. During my internships at the UN and a major bank in New York’s financial district, Epstein contacted me several times. He asked me questions that I never answered. He wanted to meet my parents to introduce them to his billionaire friends: I told him that my parents were not for sale or to be paraded around.
He wanted me to connect him with European schools and universities to teach economics (particularly at universities with a female student body). I told him that I wasn’t an economics specialist and that I didn’t intend to introduce him. Later, he offered me a position on an environmental project. This project was clearly linked to fraud. I declined his offer.
In 2012, Epstein contacted me again to invite me to a dinner in Paris, which he claimed would be attended by a head of state and other wealthy and influential people. I declined his invitation once more, explaining that I wasn’t interested in ostentatious displays of wealth and that I didn’t need his help to rub shoulders with heads of state. He was frustrated and told me that no one ever refused his invitations.
I have never, either directly or indirectly, attended any event where Epstein and his entourage were present. I wish to be left alone on this matter.
Prince Laurent through Belga, February 2 20269
This was released a little before noon by Belga. A few hours later, another statement would follow, clarifying that the prince had met Epstein :
My initial statement may not have been clear enough. When I said I had never attended an event where Epstein or his entourage were present, I was referring to public or group events. However, I did meet with Epstein twice privately, at his request, once in the early 1990s and again in the early 2000s.
Prince Laurent through Belga, February 2 202610
If you search from Prince Laurent in the Epstein files, he also appears in a list of Epstein contacts dating from 2017 :

Assuming that it is indeed Prince Laurent of Belgium, and that this contact list is up to date, that means that at least until 2017, the two could have been in contact with each other.
Okay, so let’s unpack this. Philippe, as any European royal does, had internships in New York at the UN and a private bank (the World Bank)11, presumably where he got into contact with Jeffrey Epstein. It seems that Epstein was seeking to get into contact with Laurent’s parents, the king and queen of Belgium, through their son. But why would Epstein want to be in contact with the Belgian royal family? Simply for networking reasons? We’ll get back to Albert in a just a bit. What Laurent’s statement also tells us is that Epstein was looking at European universities, particularly the ones with the most women attending, to “teach economics” there. There’s also this proposal of Epstein to have Laurent working with him on an environmental project that he refused, presumably because it smelled of fraud. And then there’s the diner in Paris where he was invited but declined, triggering frustration in Epstein. I think it’s interesting that Laurent seems to be positioning himself as knowing Epstein was full of shit, and yet, he admits to having met him twice. At interesting times too, the early 90s and the early 2000s… Famously, by 1996, the Dutroux affair was everywhere in Belgium - you couldn’t escape it. The craze only died out in 2004 after the trial. I’m not saying it’s anything beyond a coincidence, but knowing that Epstein got in contact with Laurent for the first time in either 1994 or 1995 (see footnote 11 on the World Bank), the timing sure stands out. The request to meet Laurent’s parents does as well…
The parents of Philippe and Laurent are former king and queen Albert II and Paola. If you’ve read this blog, you will remember Albert II as THE Albert, then prince, accused in the Pink Ballets12 of the Pinon affair. Here’s a little refresher.
The Pinon affair is the story of a man named André Pinon, a doctor, who decided to divorce from his wife, Josiane Jeunniau, in 1979. This story took place in Walloon Brabant, the province where the Brabant Killers would later strike. Pinon thought he could get an easier divorce deal if he could prove that his wife was cheating on him like he suspected, and so he hired a private detective, Bob Louvigny, to stake her out. That’s when he found out that she was spending her evenings at one of his colleague’s house. It turns out that select sex parties were taking place in his house, as well as other villas and apartments all around the Brabant province and Brussels, with minors involved, and the alleged presence of officials, like a former prime minister (Paul Vanden Boyenants), lawyers, magistrates, doctors, land developers (Charly de Pauw), even possibly a member of the royal family (Albert II).
Pinon managed to record his wife admitting to these parties with the help of Louvigny, but then his house was broken into - but they did not find the tape. It was also found out that two of the minors who were abused at those parties had died and their deaths were covered by the people attending, pulling some strings. Pinon went to a left wing publication called POUR to publish his story but right before it was released, the headquarters of POUR were burned down by Flemish neo-nazi elements of the Vlaams Militanten Orde, possibly tied to Westland New Post.
The Pinon affair would later become a sort of recurrent boogeyman of the Belgian years of lead (reappearing later on with the Dutroux case), with many of the people involved, like Paul Latinus of the Westland New Post, claiming to owning a copy of the “Pinon file”, which essentially is all the evidence that André Pinon accumulated in his private investigation. There were additional pieces of evidence that vanished from the Pinon file, like pictures or rumored tapes of these pink ballets parties. The Pinon affair emerged right before the Brabant Killers started, and it was thought that the sexual blackmail these Brabant bourgeois were exercising on each other might be the reason behind some of the first wave attacks, some of them looking like direct hits, like Jacques Fourez and Elise Dewit.
From the second parliementary inquiry into the Brabant Killers :
[…] The existence of “pink ballets” has indeed been confirmed – at least in the 1980s – but without the involvement of minors ever being proven. […] The findings made concerning the way in which the cases were handled […] are of such a nature that “protections” cannot be excluded.
So, Albert was frequently quoted as being a participant in the pink ballet parties - I’ll pull some quotes directly from the Pinon file, to really hammer it home.
A few weeks later, through Ms. Danielle BERESOVSKY, I made contact with a certain Christine DORET at her home. Having learned that I was in the process of getting a divorce and that the issue of child custody was becoming critical, she spoke to me about her own difficulties with her divorce. She said she was moved by my situation and wanted to help me. She stated that she knew my wife and claimed that she herself (DORET) participated in orgies with my wife, as well as a Judge Agnessens, a certain BEAURIR, VAN DEN BOEYNANTS, a certain VASTAPANNE, a certain DEPAUW, Minister Guy MATHOT, and Prince ALBERT.
Doret claimed to have personally participated in these orgies, and she cited the same names. She specified that the wives of the people named did not participate in these parties. She said that Prince Albert had told Agneseens not to worry, neither about the Crockaert affair nor about the minors’ affair, and that he would be “covered.”
Dr. André Pinon, July 28 198114
Then, I witnessed a telephone conversation between DORET and PINON (Pinon was calling from my house) during which DORET again cited, in addition to the people already mentioned, Prince Albert of Belgium, Mr. VASTAPANNE, a certain Dr. BETTENS and Mrs. PINON herself as participants in these orgies; of whom she gave a precise description to Dr. PINON, in which he recognized his wife.
Danielle Beresovsky, acquaintance of Mr. Pinon and Ms. Doret, July 16 198115
On top of that, Albert was involved in another scandal regarding prostitution networks and their involvement in sealing a deal for Belgium in Saudi Arabia. Here’s a sum up of EuroSystem Hospitalier.
The Fortunato-Montaricourt prostitution network was used as a means for a Belgian consortium to secure building contracts in Saudi Arabia. Called EuroSystem Hospitalier (ESH for short), this consortium was looking to win over hospital construction contracts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the early 70s. With the help of Lydia Montaricourt’s girls easing up the negotiations, in 1975, ESH was chosen and given a 900 million euros contract to build two hospitals in Saudi Arabia. The then Prince Albert II of Belgium was said to have weighted heavily in the discussions with Prince Fahd of Saudi Arabia, having visited the country and presented the ESH project to the Saudi prince in 1975. After the contract was given to ESH, the consortium mysteriously goes bust in July 1979 and the whole project gets cancelled. In the following investigation by Belgium’s tax inspection services, it’s established that ESH gave 225 million of euros of commissions to Belgian intermediaries (that includes possibly Prince Albert) to use their powers to promote the project to the Saudi royal family.
The Director of Human Relations for EuroSystem Hospitalier was none other than Fortunato “Tuna” Israel, a madame. Tuna Israel had of course absolutely no experience as an HR, but her prostitutes were known to be “orgy specialists”. An enigmatic figure, Tuna Israel was even said to be an intelligence asset. Her prostitution network was hired across Europe to charm businessmen and politicians on behalf of ESH. Lydia Montaricourt, a prostitute working for Tuna, would later receive Tuna’s contacts books and inherit her network when she became a madame herself. Interrogated by the police in 1979 after a house search, Tuna would say that her role for ESH was :
[…] to find girls to keep the Prince [Albert] and his companions company during their travels abroad. These girls were prostitutes.
The police found a document at Tuna’s house that indicated she had been in contact with Roger Boas (arms dealer) and gendarmerie general Fernand Beaurir, the highest rank in the service. It later appeared that girls from Tuna’s network were used as company by Paul Vanden Boyenants (former Belgian prime minister), Roger Boas, and friends at a safari in Kenya - and not any safari, a little get together organised by none other than Adnan Khashoggi, who owned the Mount Kenya Safari Club. The Montaricourt-Tuna Israel case was later hushed up, everyone denying any involvement, with important evidence like Lydia’s Montaricourt client list and her diary going missing, and any cop daring to look deeper into it was moved away from the case. This network was said to be part of the pink ballets and the Brabant Killers case, as part of the Pinon affair. Fortunato Israel never was charged and later fled to Malta, with the help of Roger Boas. In 1990, a former prostitute of Tuna’s Circle, Maud Sarr, would come forward and accuse politicians, magistrates, and policemen of participating in sex parties with girls from the network, including minors.
My apologies, that is a LOT of text to read and a LOT of context but I wanted to be thorough and loop back to things I have written about before. I wanted to clearly expose Albert as having been heavily rumored to be taking part in orgies, especially ones including with minors. His name was also evoked by some of the X witnesses in the Belgian X files surrounding the Dutroux affair. Also, infidelity isn’t a crime, but by 1997, reports were already coming out about Albert having an extramarital, unrecognized daughter. A very bad look for a royal. It took years and compliance to release a DNA test for Albert to recognize Delphine Boël (born 1968) as his official daughter, in January of 202017. That is the ultimate proof that he was seeing other women than his wife. And hey, like father, like son : Laurent also had an illegitimate son, born out of wedlock, named Clément Vandenkerckhove (born 2000)! He officially recognized him as his son in September of 2025.
It begs the question : Why did Epstein want to reach out to Albert and Paola? Did Epstein know of Albert’s accusations? Did he think that by reaching out to him, he would find a man with power he could either use or blackmail?
In that previous quote, I left out the bit about Tuna’s prostitutes (linked to Albert) being invited to Kenya at Adnan Khashoggi’s Mount Kenya Safari Club because of Khashoggi’s own links with Epstein and the Maxwell family. I think it’s pretty interesting that those separate circles, the Belgian elite and royal family and Epstein and his entourage seemed to be interacting with each other, something we totally ignored to this day. I’m just trying to put things together to see what sticks. I do find it curious that Laurent said outright Epstein wanted to reach his parents, giving Albert’s accusations over the years. Again, it could just be a coincidence and Epstein was cultivating an expensive network of relations in Europe, and the Belgian royal family could have just been part of that, but it still seems very curious to me. There’s one last thing about the royals that made me raise my eyebrow when I read it in the Epstein emails.
Lawrence Krauss, physicist accused of sexual abuse, to Jeffrey Epstein, 2011 :
I agree.. am tired.. in Davos.. […] you are right, it is a circus here.. but the queen of belgium say hi, and more importantly the beautiful young crown princess of norway wishes you were here..
The queen of Belgium says hi… By 2011, the queen consort was still Paola, the wife of Albert II. Did she end up being in contact with Epstein after all?! I think we can take Lawrence Krauss’s word for it because he mentions another important detail, the crown princess of Norway. The crown princess (to be queen!) of Norway is Mette-Marit, a close friend of Epstein, who emailed with him and even visited him, it appears. Today, as I’m writing this on February 6th, Mette-Marit spoke out about Epstein.
I deeply regret my friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. It is important for me to apologize to all of those whom I have disappointed... I also regret the situation I have put the royal family in, especially the king and queen.
Le Monde, February 6 202618
Mette-Marit’s profile and life seems pretty close to Prince Laurent. Details from the Le Monde article :
The revelations have damaged her reputation, at a time when she is dealing with a trial against her 29-year-old son from a relationship before she married the crown prince. Marius Borg Hoiby faces 38 charges, including raping four women and assaulting ex-girlfriends, and faces up to 16 years in prison.
Given Mette-Marit’s proven relation to Epstein, I’m inclined to believe Krauss is telling the truth about the queen consort of Belgium, Paola, saying hi to Epstein through him while he was at Davos in 2011. That would mean that by then, Epstein had stayed in contact with the Belgian royal family… The Brussels Times has another theory : the “queen of Belgium” in question was the crown princess of Belgium at the time, Mathilde, wife of Philippe, to become king and queen in 2013. Krauss mentions Davos : Paola, queen of Belgium wasn’t in attendance in 2011. Mathilde was, it seems.
There is some debate around the true identity of this "Belgian Queen". In 2011, the Queen of the Belgians was Paola, wife of King Albert II. But according to P Magazine, Paola was not present at Davos that year. The Crown Princess, Mathilde, was in attendance at the time. The Belgian Royal Palace confirmed to The Brussels Times that the Crown Princess was in attendance at Davos in 2011, but declined to comment on the findings from the Epstein archives.
The Brussels Times, February 6 202619
Either way, it indicates that Epstein seemed in contact with the Belgian royal family.
EDIT February 7 2026 : A day after the publishing of this article, Belgian monarchy has released an official statement regarding the mention of “queen of Belgium” in the Epstein emails. Here it is.
We wish to put an end to the speculation that this email and the reporting surrounding it might generate.
In January 2011, the Queen of the Belgians was Her Majesty Queen Paola. She was not present at the World Economic Forum in Davos that year. Therefore, she could not have conveyed greetings from Davos to anyone. Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde was indeed present at the World Economic Forum in Davos that year, along with His Royal Highness Prince Philippe (now Their Majesties the King and Queen). Having never personally met Jeffrey Epstein, nor been in contact with him in any other way, she obviously did not convey her greetings to him through this Lawrence Kraus, whom the Queen, moreover, has no recollection of.
Belga20
I still stand by what I said before the monarchy spoke out. I think whether it’s Paola or Mathilde, it doesn’t really matter. What matters is there’s a mention. Paola would have indicated something a bit deeper in relation to Albert and his past, sure. But I think the fact that Krauss seems to know which royals Epstein was in contact with is reinforced by his mention of the crown princess of Norway. Especially when the Belgian king’s brother himself has come forward and said he met Epstein twice.
To further our understanding of Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to Belgium, I’m going to quote from an article released by POLITICO on February 5th 2026, “‘Bisous from Brussels’: Jeffrey Epstein’s links to the Belgian capital”.
A 2010 email chain sent to Epstein includes a description of a woman identified as “Kelly C.” provided by a Brussels-based “models agency” called Casting Factory. Kelly’s body measurements are provided along with an attestation she had a “very nice temper.” POLITICO was unable to reach Casting Factory, which no longer has a functioning website. A visit to the address associated with it in the exchange of messages, in Brussels city center near Avenue Louise, revealed a building that now appears empty.
Included in the exchange is a representative identified as being from MC2 Model Management — an agency co-founded by Epstein’s long-time associate Jean-Luc Brunel. Brunel was found hanged in his Paris prison cell in 2022 where he was being held on suspicion of raping minors and trafficking children for the purpose of sex.
MC2 is now defunct and could not be reached for comment.
A year on, in 2011, Epstein got an email from his assistant notifying him that “Jean Luc called to say hi and let you know that he is leaving tonight [for] Brussels.” No further identifying details for the caller were given in the email.
Like I suspected in some of the emails I showcased earlier, it seems that Jean-Luc Brunel was active in Brussels and could have been procuring girls from Belgian agencies to Epstein in the US and elsewhere.
Also in 2010, Epstein received a message from a redacted address informing him that the sender was “getting ready for tmrw flight)” and “will send you my new number from Brussels!” A single bracket is frequently used as a text shorthand for a smiley face in Eastern Europe.
Another message to Epstein, also from a redacted address, simply reads “miss you))))) bisous from Brussels.” Bisous means kisses in French.
In another exchange, an unknown sender reported to Epstein they had held a video call with a woman who appeared “pretty nice,” even if they “couldn’t see her face very well.” The woman, who was said to be “waiting for the visa”, was described as having previously been “a booker for a modeling agency (might have other candidates?) I think she will do well after our conversation.”
The sender then asked to fly to the Belgian capital. Epstein replied: “Yes to Brussels trip.”
Again, it seems that Brussels was one of Epstein’s European footholds with Paris. A number of women he was in contact with transited by Belgium’s capital, possibly just for logistic reasons, as crude as that sounds, due to Brussels being close to countries like France, the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, etc.
One purported visit by Epstein to Brussels was scheduled for only a few hours. According to a booking note sent by an assistant to Epstein, in January 2019 he intended to travel by train from Paris alongside unnamed French and Ukrainian companions, arriving at Brussels’ Gare du Midi around 5 p.m. and departing again just after 8 p.m. The purpose of the trip is unclear.
This is something I was looking for and couldn’t prove. It does seem that there’s a trace of Epstein stepping foot in Belgium for a few hours. I do wonder if there were other visits that are not traced in these emails. There must have been if he was in contact with Laurent and the Belgian royal family. I wonder what the context might have been as well.
Epstein received a series of restaurant recommendations for the Belgian capital. One redacted contact told Epstein that Belga Queen, an elegant converted bank in the historic center, was one of the “best” in Brussels.
In 2019, when Slovakia’s then-foreign minister, Miroslav Lajčák, wanted to meet with the disgraced American financier, he said he’d booked a table at La Brasserie des Étangs Mellaerts, an upscale eatery in the leafy Brussels suburb of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. The restaurant declined to confirm to POLITICO whether the booking was made.
Lajčák resigned from his latest post as national security adviser to the Slovak prime minister on Saturday after the documents showed he kept up close relations with Epstein after the financier’s 2008 conviction for soliciting sex from a minor. Lajčák said he did nothing wrong and feels like a “fool” for maintaining contact.
“My favourite restaurant was L’Idiot Du Village,” Peter Mandelson, a former British government minister and European commissioner from 2004-2008 ― and a regular contact of Epstein’s ― told a redacted contact who asked for suggestions after Epstein said Mandelson knew the city well. The now-closed bistro was secreted away down a cobblestone alley in the neighborhood of Marolles and prized for its seafood dishes.
This sure seems to me that Epstein visited Brussels in other instances and at other times, but it also looks like he wasn’t familiar with the city. That last exchange of emails with someone redacted that Epstein put in contact with Peter Mandelson seems interesting to me. That person says that they’re in Brussels with their “new boy”, a race car driver :

Based on the email, I checked and there was indeed a race in Spa that weekend of 2012, the 6 hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
Not mentioned in the POLITICO article is an exchange over text with Steve Bannon and Jeffrey Epstein in 2018 :

Epstein is redacted in this version of the document, but in another version, it is revealed that the contact address is jeeitunes@gmail.com, another one of Epstein’s email addresses. Bannon boasts about his speech making the Belgium government “fall”, and how he spent all day with the Flemish nationalists (probably Vlaams Belang) and had them meet the Walloon nationalist/populist (probably the Parti Populaire) in his hotel room. Interesting to note that Bannon and Epstein apparently had an interest in Belgian politics. The Brussels Times21 tells us more about the event that took place that day :
[Bannon] is referring to a speech he gave in Brussels on 8 December 2018, where he declared the UN Global Compact on Migration as "dead", while also praising far-right parties for opposing it.
The event was hosted by the right-wing Flemish nationalist party Vlaams Belang. Just a few hours later, N-VA’s ministers handed in their resignations to the Belgian Prime Minister of the time, Charles Michel.
To be clear, there are two Flemish nationalist parties, one right-wing (N-VA) and one far-right (Vlaams Belang), but both have rallied against immigration in recent years. Current Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever is a leading figure in N-VA.
Regarding the “Walloon populists” Bannon is referring to, they are likely to be the now-defunct French-speaking People’s Party. This party, which was considered far-right by experts, folded in 2019 due to low support.

Unreported on by POLITICO as well, there’s the lawyer Jeffrey Epstein used based in Brussels, Marie-Joseph Experton.

When you search Experton in the files, you’re hit with more than 500 results. Her pro signature says “Lawyer at the Paris Bar, based in Brussels”, which matches Epstein’s description of her. By googling her name with Epstein, you can check out that she has been his representative for quite a long time. I tracked down a file that mentions a package that Epstein sent to Experton from his Madison Avenue townhouse to her office in Brussels, through FedEx, in 2003. By typing in her address, there are more than 40 hits in the emails, indicating Epstein has regularly sent her files and packages over the years.

The Brussels Times22 tells us more about Experton :
Epstein relied on legal services provided by a lawyer based in Belgium. Marie-Joseph Experton, a Brussels-based lawyer with a speciality in French law, was a long-time representative of the convicted sex offender. Experton was contacted for comment but did not reply.
With the help of the lawyer, the released emails show he coordinated the purchase of luxury sports cars, money transfers and art deals from the Belgian capital. Emails show that Epstein relied on the Belgian legal representation until at least 2018.
In an email to a senior lawyer in Paris in 2015, Epstein said that Experton was his lawyer for “personal things” in Europe. The Brussels lawyer advised Epstein on several topics, including severance packages for terminated employees, European banking, French real estate, and invoicing for the maintenance of his European properties.
Experton once purchased a Mercedes for Epstein, using funds from her private account to complete the sale.
The Brussels lawyer also organised meetings between Epstein and European businessmen as far back as 2011.
The newspaper also points out some money movements between Epstein and Belgium, as far late as April 2019.
FinCEN records found within the Epstein archives show that Epstein regularly sent large amounts of money to Belgium, exchanging dollars for euros. Many of the transactions were conducted by individuals in his immediate inner circle, such as Darren Indyke and Harry Beller.
In April 2019, just a few months before he would face federal charges and die in a New York jail cell under suspect circumstances, Epstein transferred €39,000 from his account registered in the US Virgin Islands to an account registered in Belgium. Between 2016 and 2017, documents show that Epstein made repeated payments of €7,000 to Belgium.
Here’s the document in question :

Before we wrap up, there’s a last few tidbits that I found interesting. By typing a bunch of names tied to Belgium, I noticed that on Jeffrey Epstein's Gold Card statement of account from 2004, under "New activity for G MAXWELL", there's a plane ticket under the name DE BONVOISIN Ariane, a woman born in New York from a Belgian father23, meaning he carried the name De Bonvoisin.

Here, in the details, we can see that there were actually two plane tickets for Ariane - one from Palm Beach in Florida to JFK Airport in New York, and then a second ticket from JFK to Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands, final destination. This would be the route you’d take if you wanted to go visit a small privately owned island named Little Saint James, just a little bit to the south-east of Saint Thomas. Given that this is paid for by Maxwell and Epstein, according to these receipts, I think it is fair to assume this is a trip to Little Saint James, which Epstein owned.
In her bio on her personal website, Ariane describes herself as an "Elite Coach, Global Speaker and Entrepreneur" working with Amazon, Google and more. She grew up "in 6 countries across 3 continents".
If you’re a regular here, you know the name De Bonvoisin24 carries a certain weight. It might seem stupid, but upon checking her out and realising her dad was Belgian, I started wondering if there was any link between their family and Benoît de Bonvoisin. Sadly, it seems that genealogy records from the De Bonvoisin family are either incomplete or hidden, and there’s no other mention of the family I could find. “Bonvoisin” as a name is pretty common, but it is a different name from De Bonvoisin, which is pretty unique. The presence of "de" in a name indicates that the family is part of nobility and holds a title. Similar to other languages like “of”, “van” or “af”, it is called a nobiliary particle, and Benoît de Bonvoisin’s family inherited one when his dad, Pierre de Bonvoisin, inherited a baron title in 1957. The De Bonvoisin family also has their own coat of arms.
I realize that this could entirely be a coincidence, but I found it interesting that again, someone mentioned in the emails not only had Belgian ancestry but was called De Bonvoisin. It could be a very distant relative that has basically no ties to Benoît de Bonvoisin, or not even considered a relative at all. There was another file and mention of “De Bonvoisin” but it has since been removed, for reasons unknown. If anything, I might be reaching a little bit, but I’d rather notice it and take note of it in case it might be useful later.
EDIT February 16 2026 : An attentive reader on Twitter provided me with a screenshot of the full article written in Le Soir25 where there are more details on Ariane. There’s no mention of her father’s name but there’s some very important details about him that might answer our questions.
Here’s what that says, translated :
At 35, the pretty brunette has experienced many changes. Born in New York to a Belgian father and a French mother, she grew up in Hong Kong and finished her secondary education in Belgium.
“My father worked for Générale de Banque. He opened several offices in Asia over 12 years. Usually, children aren’t prepared for change; stability is sought for them. But I saw this situation positively, as a life lesson.”
This cannot possibly be another coincidence. This is too on the nose. I’ll try to keep it simple. Basically, the Société Générale de Belgique was Belgium’s main financial and industrial holding company and it played a major historical role in the country’s development and industrialization. Many of its subsidiaries and banks notably exploited the Belgian Congo. Matt from Ghost Stories From The End Of The World has done some extensive research regarding it in the early episodes of the Belgian X-Files series.
In 1934, it was divided into an holding company (retaining the name Société Générale de Belgique) and a bank (called Banque de la Société Générale de Belgique)26, still under the same helm. The bank changed names a few times until they eventually settled on Générale de Banque for its last few years of existence. The reason why I’m mentioning this is that Benoît de Bonvoisin’s father, Pierre de Bonvoisin, was the director and chairman of the board of the Société Générale and the Générale de Banque from 1951 to 1963… And before him, Pierre’s grandfather, Alexandre Galopin, was its governor27. Historically, the De Bonvoisin family has always been involved with the Société Générale, so the fact that Ariane de Bonvoisin mentions her Belgian father working for the Générale de Banque in Asia, to me, furthers cement her being a relative of Benoît de Bonvoisin. Benoît doesn’t have kids, so he couldn’t possibly be her father, but his older brother, Pierre-Alexandre, does. Guess where Pierre-Alexandre worked?
His older brother, Pierre-Alexandre, pursued a career in this [Société Générale] holding company, both in Hong Kong and Brussels. He also married Viscountess Michèle de Jonghe d’Ardoye, daughter of a prominent noble family with interests in Société Générale and the Assurances Générales group.
de Bonvoisin & Cie28
I think that has to be it, quite frankly. There can’t be that many Belgian nationals with the name De Bonvoisin who worked for the Société Générale in Hong Kong. I think Ariane de Bonvoisin is the daughter of Pierre-Alexandre de Bonvoisin, himself the brother of Benoît de Bonvoisin. I’d say I’m about 99% sure. Either that or she’s his grand daughter. I checked Pierre-Alexandre and his wife’s genealogy but couldn’t find any direct proof. I couldn’t find the name of their children as well. But if you check their ages out, it works. The Le Soir article was written in 2008 when Ariane was 35, so that would make her birth year around 1973, now being 53. According to online records, Pierre-Alexandre de Bonvoisin was born in 1936, making him 37 in 1973. A reasonable age to have children. He died in 2013 at 77.
Just because you’re from the same family as Benoît de Bonvoisin doesn’t make you immediately a sicko, even if the apple probably doesn’t fall far from the tree. But getting a trip paid to go to Little Saint James might just make you one. Ariane de Bonvoisin’s nobility status and the money her family has accumulated over the past century definitely helped her make a name for herself, working in something as vague as whatever a life coach is, and making enough of a living flying around the world to meet with all these major brands and people. To the point where she attracted the attention of Epstein and Maxwell. It just shows how much these noble families are somehow always involved with operations like Epstein’s network, and the ones before him. Whether they want it or not. Money, power, networking, blackmail, gaining leverage - it’s perfect.
I’m really pretty much left speechless that someone that’s related to the Black Baron, Benoît de Bonvoisin, had her plane ticket to (allegedly) Little Saint James paid for by Ghislaine Maxwell using Jeffrey Epstein’s card in 2004. Did they meet before? Did they meet again after this? What kind of relationship did they have, if any? Would Maxwell and Epstein require her “coaching” services and why? I have no idea. I want to know more. I’ll keep my eyes peeled. Can you imagine, just for a second, that’s there an extremely slim but existing possibility that Jefffrey Epstein could have possibly met with Benoît de Bonvoisin. That just sent a shiver down my spine.
EDIT February 17 2026 : Thanks to fellow researcher Mundus Pirata, this seem to be confirmed true - he provided me with scanned pictures of the Bottin Mondain from 1984. The Bottin Mondain is a directory that is kept of nobility and high societies in France and across Europe. In this particular edition, at page 341 and 342, there’s mentions of the De Bonvoisin family, and there we find Pierre-Alexandre de Bonvoisin.

This is where we get confirmation that he has three children, Alexandre, born in 1969, Ariane, born in 1972 (that fits with the age we gave her, 53), and Stéphane, born in 1976. See it here :
That is it then, Ariane de Bonvoisin is the daughter of Pierre-Alexandre, and the niece of Benoît, the Black Baron.
There’s one last email that stood out as curious to me, regarding Belgium.

Sent to Epstein by someone named “SA”, it references a “Belgium guy” that they’re trying to influence (if I’m reading this correctly). It seems that there has been “no response by (at?) all at our end”, meaning whoever they’re targeting wasn’t receptive to their influences. By the proximity in dates and the fact that Laurent spoke out about being contacted numerous times by Epstein but shutting him down each time, I have a feeling it could have been about him, but we have no indication it was. I can’t make out who SA is as well.
I think so far I’m done with the documents that have been released on Epstein regarding Belgium. There is probably more to come and there’s always the chance something else is found, so this piece is obviously prone to updates if that happens. I think so far it’s been really interesting to see how people have been reacting to the release of such numerous files to the public, with the usual grifters trying to manipulate whatever is said in those emails to fit whatever narrative they’re trying to sell us. And there’s also the people just straight up making stuff up or not bothering to check the sources. One thing I do find interesting is that anyone can dig in and look for whatever they think they might find. But that also means that anyone without any knowledge of the case can just interpret things and speculate wildly about what’s in these emails. I’ve tried to keep some distance and not fall too easily into that in this piece. It’s a given that these emails have been scrubbed clean by the DOJ and that we won’t find anything they didn’t want us to find in there. I do think that they’re an incredible resource to get a glimpse at the kind of networks Jeffrey Epstein was developing all over the world, and in this example here, in Europe and Belgium. I would have never suspected that Jeffrey Epstein himself had been in contact with members of the Belgian royal family. I suspected activities in Belgium but I didn’t know Brussels would be a hub of sorts for him in Europe. That he had a lawyer based in Brussels. Etc. I think we are getting to see an unheard of and hidden part of the Epstein case and that it’s what has been driving the sudden surge again in researching the case. This makes me wonder though, if this was hidden from us all this time, I wonder what still is being kept from us now. Email communications that will never be released because they’re too sensitive. Heads of states or members of the elites protected. Do you think some of these people are wondering if they’re next? It baffles me that people like Peter Mandelson were allowed to have such extensive relationships with Epstein and that they got away with it because it was undocumented. That is also one net positive about the release of these files and emails : we are shining light on those who wanted to stay hidden in the dark. As I’m writing these lines, “London's Met Police are searching two properties linked to Peter Mandelson as part of Epstein investigation”.
This wasn’t meant so much as an in-depth analysis of the content, more just putting all things related to Belgium together, and I hope that I’ve managed to strike a fine line between the two where you get some context on what’s in the emails, as well as this just being an easier and more complete thing to read than a Twitter thread. I’m tempted to do this again but with what’s been happening in France with Epstein, but it’s a much more complicated story for me, I’m not as familiar with it as I am with Belgium. In the meantime, I can recommend these articles on France in English :

If you REALLY need a refresher on this guy, here’s a few lines from Wikipedia (this is nowhere near a complete portrayal of the man and his actions) :
“Jeffrey Edward Epstein (January 20, 1953 – August 10, 2019) was an American child sex offender, serial rapist, and human trafficker, who initially became famous for his purported success as a financier. He began his professional career as a teacher (hired without a degree by Donald Barr) at the Dalton School. After his dismissal from the school in 1976, he entered the banking and finance sector, working at Bear Stearns in various roles, before starting his own firm. Epstein cultivated an elite social circle and procured at least 1,000 underage girls, teens, and young women who were subjected to repeated rape and sexual violence by him and his associates. Epstein made much of his fortune by providing tax and estate services to billionaires.
In 2005, police in Palm Beach, Florida, began investigating Epstein after a parent reported that he had sexually abused her 14-year-old daughter. Federal officials identified 36 girls, some as young as 14 years old, whom Epstein had allegedly sexually abused. Epstein pleaded guilty and was convicted in 2008 by a Florida state court of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute. He was convicted of only these two crimes as part of a controversial plea deal agreed by the U.S. Department of Justice‘s Alexander Acosta, and he served almost 13 months in custody but with extensive work release.
Epstein was arrested again on July 6, 2019, on federal charges for the sex trafficking of minors in Florida and New York. He died in his jail cell on August 10, 2019. Barbara Sampson, the New York City medical examiner, controversially ruled that his death was a suicide by hanging. Forensic pathologist Michael Baden has disputed the ruling, and there has been significant public skepticism about the true cause of his death, resulting in conspiracy theories. In July 2025, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to support the conclusion that Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell. When the Department of Justice released the footage, approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds of it was missing, and the video was found to have been modified despite the FBI’s claim that it was raw.
Since Epstein’s death precluded the possibility of pursuing criminal charges against him, a judge dismissed all criminal charges on August 29, 2019. Epstein had a decades-long association with Ghislaine Maxwell, who recruited young girls for him, leading to her 2021 conviction on U.S. federal charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy for helping him procure girls, including a 14-year-old, for child sexual abuse and prostitution.
A renowned social networker, whose vast network included business people, royalty, politicians, and academics, Epstein’s friendships with public figures including Donald Trump, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Bill Clinton, and Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway have attracted significant controversy. The Epstein files released by the House Democratic Caucus show that he maintained connections with Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Larry Summers, Steve Bannon, Ehud Barak, Steve Tisch, Miroslav Lajčák, Howard Lutnick, Kathy Ruemmler, Peter Mandelson, and many other notable figures.”

“Jean-Luc Brunel was a French model scout. He gained prominence by leading the international modelling agency Karin Models, and founded MC2 Model Management, with financing by Jeffrey Epstein. The subject of a 60 Minutes investigation in 1988, Brunel faced allegations of pimping and sexual assault spanning three decades. Brunel came under scrutiny for his ties to Epstein, with whom he worked from the early 2000s to 2015. Brunel was accused of grooming girls and of taking part in an alleged sex trafficking operation involving Epstein. In 2019, the French National Police launched an investigation on Brunel after he went into hiding following Epstein’s death. He was arrested on 16 December 2020, and French prosecutors charged him with the rape of minors; however, he hanged himself in his cell before his trial could proceed.”

In prince Laurent’s official biography on the Belgian monarchy website, it says the following :
[…] Prince Laurent was promoted to commander on 15 November 1994.
On completion of his military training, the Prince travelled to the United States where he undertook internships in various private companies, then at the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the United Nations, in development and environment programmes.
Back in Belgium, he spent several months as a trainee at the European Commission, where he was active in a think tank about the quality of life and the environment, for which he was awarded the Emile Noël Prize.
Prince Laurent is President of the Prince Laurent Foundation, which was set up in 1995 to promote the welfare of domestic and wild animals. […]
The bank Laurent evokes seems to be the World Bank, and the first contacts established by Epstein with Laurent must have been either in very late 1994 or in 1995, judging by the timeline provided here. He didn’t spend a lot of time in the United States, because by 1995, he seems to already have been back in Belgium.
Les ballets roses (“pink ballets” in English) is the term used in Belgium to refer to sex parties and orgies with minors, inspired by a 1959 French scandal :
“The ballets roses (”pink ballets”), also known as the ballets roses affair), was a sex abuse scandal that was publicised in 1959 in France. In a fashionable country house near Paris, the Pavillon du Butard in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, belonging to the National Assembly, a group of girls aged 15 to 17 performed “ballets” attended by prominent figures of the political and social worlds, notably, André Le Troquer, at the time president of the National Assembly. The performances were alleged to have ended in orgies.” (Wikipedia)
The term was later reused every time a similar story emerged, with the alternative “blue ballets” being used when it was about the abuse of young boys.

“Benoît de Bonvoisin is the grandson of Alexandre Galopin (1879–1944), former director and governor of the Société Générale de Belgique (the main financial group of the country), and son of baron Pierre de Bonvoisin (b. 1903), also a director of the Société Générale and of the insurance group AG, among others.
Bonvoisin was the owner of the Cidep company, which published the magazine Nouvelle Europe Magazine (far right publication).
[…]
De Bonvoisin is connected to various far-right Belgian movements. According to Serge Dumont, he was from 1974 on the national treasurer of the “CEPIC”, at the time a far right organization within the Parti Social Chrétien. He used his connections with the business world to finance this organization. In 1975 he was involved in plans for the foundation of the far right political movement “Forces Nouvelles“ (New Powers) through the reading circles of Nouvelle Europe Magazine.
Walter De Bock mentions him as an important factor in a case of illegal campaign funding for Paul Vanden Boeynants, former Belgian Prime Minister and then Minister of Defence by contractors working for the ministry of defence. According to a note from the Belgian State Security (Belgian intelligence), published by De Bock, de Bonvoisin financially supported the Front de la Jeunesse, a private militia disbanded in 1983.
Hugo Gijsels alleges that de Bonvoisin, through his company PDG, was the main financer of Inforep, the publication of the “Public Information Office” (PIO) of the Belgian Ministry of Defence. In 1978, PIO was disbanded by the General Staff of the army for its connections with the far right. The organization was later connected, by the Belgian Parliamentary Special Inquiry Committee, to the Belgian part of the Operation Gladio.
De Bonvoisin is pejoratively nicknamed the “Black Baron,” for alleged connections to the Brabant Killers, CCC and Gladio, and the financing of “fascist and militant groups.” The term was first coined by Albert Raes, former head of the Belgian State Security Service.”
